Broadcast Training Programme General Information

Programme Eligibility
•   Students are welcome to apply to join the programme if they: have a good level of spoken English;
•   are PC literate; and have accommodation in Beijing and/or close to an Olympic venue.
•   Faculty members who go through the application process may participate in the programme.

Faculties and Schools Involvement
Institutions who are partners in the Broadcast Training Programme will provide the Broadcast Training Programme organisers with promotional and logistical support.

Positions available
During the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the following positions will be available to students who successfully complete the Broadcast Training Programme:
•   Logistics Assistant: Assists in BOB`s Logistics Department.
•   Liaison Officer- Interpreter: Involved in duties related to BOB`s Broadcast Relations Department.
•   Commentary Systems Operator - Utility - Audio Assistant: Assists BOB`s Engineering team.
•   Logger/Archivist - Camera Assistant: Assists BOB`s Production Department.
•   Business Assistant: Assists BOB's Finance Department.

Application Process
Students wishing to join the Broadcast Training Programme will be required to submit an application form via the Internet containing current personal data. Only completed applications will be taken into consideration.

Training Workshops
All students selected to join the programme must take part in training workshops which will be held during 2007. These workshops will be designed to prepare students for specific duties at Games-time. The first part of the workshop will last from 2-6 days, depending on the position. Professionals, working in broadcasting, will teach at each workshop. The content of these specialist workshops will include:
•   Television production training.
•   Position training.
•   Interviews.
All students who successfully complete the workshop will receive a certificate of completion. Candidates will be notified within two weeks of the workshop of whether they have been selected to participate during Games-time.
